“One day there was a boy named Jack who lived in a hut with his mother.”
One day there was a boy named Jack who lived in a hut with his mother. They were very poor. One day they had no money to pay the rent.
He went to the fair to sell a cow. While he was going along the road he met a fairy. He had a big bottle. I will give you this bottle for this cow said the fairy.
"I will" said Jack "but what good is the bottle." When you go home said the fairy put the bottle upon the table and say "Bottle do your duty."
When Jack went home he put the bottle upon the table and said "Bottle do your duty." Out jumped a fairy and threw Jack a crack of gold and they had money as long as they lived.
Got from: my mother. 40 years
