- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)times around the well. In olden days there was a church on the top of the hill over the well. The monks in the famous Mothel Abbey used celebrated Mass in this church as well as in the Mothel Abbey. Both were destroyed in the Cromwellian period. There were two trout in the well supposed to be the two saints. They were only seen at long intervals. Legend has the story that a number of years ago a servant in the employment of people called "Wilsons" who lived in the farm where Mr Pat Walsh now is brought a barrel of water in which there was one of those trout. They failed to boil the water and had to take it back to the well again trout and all. There is another story about the old tree that was where the present tree is. This same family the Wilsons, ordered one of their servants to take two horses and yoke them to this old tree which was very rotten and light not much heavier than a couple of men could carry. Still the two fine horses couldnt stir it.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
