It is said that in olden times there was a mound which was surrounded by stones at the bottom. Around the stones there was a path four feet wide on which no grass grew and on which the fairies danced. This mound was about a quarter of a mile out the Bundoran road and it was said that anyone who built a house on this spot would have bad luck.
