   Government prohibited the milk from entering the city and now the farmers are tilling their lands. Some have large flocks of sheep others grow wheat and flax.
   The farm houses are very large and nearly all up to date. They are slated and have all modern conveniences. Many of them have beautiful gardens and entrances. Vegetable plots also are to be seen at each house. Quite a few have tennis courts attached to the houses. There is scarcely a thatched house to be seen on one of the farms in this district. Even the labourer's dwellings which the farmer has erected on his farm, are in good order. The district is prosperous and the inhabitants are industrious. The Border between Northern Ireland and Eire is about five minutes walk from the school at Kildrum in one direction and about two miles in the other direction at either Bridgend or Carrigans. It is usually known as the Laggan Valley.
   There is a creamery called Taughboyne in the district.
