- There were three men famous for jumping in Ballindavoe. Their names were Seamus Mc Gonigle, Eamon Ruddy, Phelmy Doherty, Eamon Ruddy could at a running jump clear a twelve foot plank on level ground, back and forth. He was a famous swimmer also. He could perform all kinds of feats in the water and carry a man of 14 stones on his back.
Seamus Mc Gonigle was also a famous jumper he could jump the twelve foot plank too and jump 49 feet at a hop step and also clear the high jump of seven feet.
Once in the Island of Glashedy his boat being carried off with the tide and afraid of being dashed(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
