- Hidden Treasure
There is a small lake on the highest part of Benbo mountain. There is a pot of gold supposed to have been hidden in it by Prince O'Rourke. It is said there is a mermaid guarding it. Once people tried to drain the lake to get the gold, but when they had it almost drained it filled up again and they never got the gold.
There is another Hidden Treasure in Killeen rock about one mile from Dromahair. There is a pot of money in the rock there was a man working on the Killeen farm selling turnips. He dreamt of it three times and went to the spot where he dreamt of. There he got a florin six pence and a penny every morning. The owner of the farm said he was stealing (turning) turnips and the man told how he got the money and he never got anything again.
There is a pot of gold hidden on an Island on the Bonnet below Dromahair, and a snake is guarding it. Two people have to go to find it and one of them will be killed, and the other will get the treasure.
