- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)was one of the days for getting enroled in the brown scapular. It is an old custom On St Martin's Day to draw the blood from some animal.Once upon a time there lived a family in the town-land of Sweet-wood and they killed nothing for St Martin and in the morning there was the sign of the cross on the door with blood. On Hallow eve night people disguise themselves and go about from house to house making merry. On St Stephen's Day people also disguise themselves and go about collecting money. These are called "Wren Boys". That night they have a dance.
