- The potatoes are moulded in summer. The mould is dug with a loy and then broken into fine crumbs and put up on the ridge with a shovel. The moulding is done in dry weather so that there will be no weeds. If the mould is wet the weeds would grow quickly. After if would be moulded. After a while the ridges are weeded and then the stalks are sprayed. The spraying is made of blue-stone and washing soda. There are many kinds of potatoes Irish Queen, Kerr Pinks, Arran Banners, and Champion are some of them.
