  1. The farmers plant the potatoes in the spring. First they score the field and then put out manure on it. They spread the manure in lines. Then they start opening the field. When they have it opened they put in the seed and close it. After a while the stalks come up. When they are up a good bit they are moulded and after a while they are sprayed with bluestone washing soda and water. The farmers usually spray the pototoes twice. Some people set the seed with a steeveen and others drop the seed. They make a hole in the ridge with the steeveen and drop the seed into it. Then some
