    A case of severe sore throat a poultice of chick-weed is applied. An open tongs is laid on the fire and the chick-weed is left on it - to heat. When hot enough it is placed on the throat.
    Roasted potatoes placed in a stocking are used in the same way.
    For a cold, onions or garlic, boiled on new milk make a splendid cure.
    Ferrets or asses leavings are given for chin-cough.
    Meet a man with a piebald pony, and ask him what he would recommend you to give to a child, who has the chin-cough - then give whatever he says to the child and
