There was a well at Boyle. St Patrick's Well. I heard my father saying he saw a small trout in it. They used to go in under a stone - one of them had a burnt track on his side. A mischievous boy, fished in the well, caught one of the trout, brought it home and put it on a coal to roast it. The fish hopped off - and off the road. - and back into the well. I don't think the fish are there now, but they were in my father's young days, for anyone to see.- Collector
