- The hills on the old road leading from John Dillon's cross Cloone on to Aughavas and Camgallen are called the Monuments. The road goes up and down steep hills and passes by this school. This is how it got its name. In the bad times '47 The English had a big boiler at Cloone Grange for making stirabout.
