- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Guns were made from Elderberry trees. First a thick branck is cut from the tree and peared. There is some soft stuff in the middle of the stick and this is pushed out with another smaller stick or a poker. On one side the stick is peared and a long hole is made in it. Then a spring is put in this hole. A stone is put in the top of the gun the spring is pulled back and then let go. The spring hits the stone which shoots off then.
In making a bird cradle the first thing done is four strong rods are tied together. Four lite rods are then tied one at each corner of the strong ones and tied together about a foot high from the ground Then other rods are platted in and out through the lite ones. Then a little rod called a pan is put in two corners of the cradle. A forked stick is placed on the ground. Another liter stick is put in the fork and left resting on the pan. When the bird steps on the pan the cradle falls on top of her.- Bailitheoir
