    Long ago there was an Abbey built in Benada. Monks lived in the Abbey. The remains of the abbey are still to be seen in the old graveyard. Not far from the Abbey the nuns built a convent. Some of the people say that one of the O'Hara's killed someone in the Abbey and on that account the abbey would fall. The people say that stains of blood can be seen in the Abbey where the person was killed. The people say that there was a ball on the top of the Abbey. The people say that there was a ball on the top of the Abbey. The English stole the ball back to English. It is said that a man from Tullnaglug helped them to steal the ball.
