“Long ago a chieftain was building a castle on the summit of Corca Duibhine mountain.”
310
June 3, 1938.Long ago a chieftain was building a castle on the summit of Corca Durbine mountain. He had not enough of stones so he sent out his soldiers to get for him some big stones. While the soldiers were away the chieftain was attacked. He blew a bugle and the soldiers heard it, they threw down the stones they were carrying.
And ran to the rescue of the chieftain. In many fields still these big stones are to be seen, and the fields where they are, are called the "golans". The old chieftain was killed and the castle was never finished afterwords, this day the walls can be seen yet on the road to Isalee.Sceulaise: Séamus Ó Seaghdha, 55 yrs
