  1. One night three men went out picking gooseberries to another man's garden with a basket. They stood picking away until they had the basket filled. Then they started for home, and as soon as they left the garden they met a tall white lady and a big black cat. One of the men saw them and he nearly died with the fright. The other two men did not know what was wrong with him.
