of cartwheels is done in the open air in a place convenient to the forge. The smith if angered or annoyed by anyone is supposed to have power of bringing luck on the offender by what is termed "turning the anvil." The forge is a great place for men young and old meeting where there is storytelling, gossiping and the news of the village. There was a house for the smiths and they used to work in it some time ago it is now used as a pig-sty.
