- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Then Jack jumped up on the horse and brought him home.
Next (morning) the gentleman said he would have to take the sheet from the bed which himself and his wife slept on.
There was a man in the neighbourhood buried that day, so Jack went and raised him. He resembled Jack a bit, Jack dressed him in his own clothes and let him down the chimney. When the gentleman saw him he got his pistol and fired on him. Jack then let go the rope and the dead man clashed down on the floor.
The gentleman then got up and started digging a hole. When Jack found him outside he went into the house and got into the bed with the woman. He said he would not bury him for another while; he started pulling the sheet until he got it off the bed altogether, then he said he would go again.
