- There are days lucky and unlucky. Wednesday and Friday are said to be lucky for changing from one house to another. Saturday is said to be unlucky for flitting. There is a rhyme about "Saturday's flit is a short sit". If you start work on Saturday such as ploughing or cutting corn you will be at the same work the whole year round. There is an old saying that March borrows three days from April to kill the old cow and there is a rhyme about Friday. "Friday's flit is a long sit".
