- The local fairs are held in towns. Some of the buyers come to crossroads to buy cattle and bring them into the town and sell them over again. Some buyers come to farmers and buy cattle and any domestic animal that the farmer has. It is done yet by fowl buyers and cattle buyers. The town fair is held in the fair-green. When an animal is sold luck money is given to the buyer. It is called a luck-penny. When the bargain is made they strike hands. The animal is marked with keal or mud. Some buyers mark with scissors by clipping the animal on the hinch. The biggest fairs in the year are the May, November and december fairs. There are special fairs for sheep, pigs and horses.
