- (continued from previous page)The biggest fairs of the year are the May fair and the November fair. Young pigs are sold in markets called middle markets. The fairs for horses are held in Clones and Ballybay and the day for it is on a Friday.
- When both sides are pleased with a bargain they say "Done with you". The owner puts a mark of paint or mud on the animal when it is sold. If it was a horse that was being sold the halter would be given. A special fair was held in Ballybay for horses. Monaghan was never any good for fairs(continues on next page)
