On Easter Saturday Easter water is blessed in the Church and the people bring home a supply in bottles. It is said that if the Easter water is kept in the house for seven years it will cure any illness.
Om Easter Sunday people eat several eggs as a relic of the days when they wernt allowed to eat eggs in Lent.
It is said that if you eat three leaves of blessed palm on Palm Sunday you won't get ill for twelve months.
The first four days in April are called the skinning of the Old Cow or the "Rivouge Days" on account of the extreme cold which prevails at that time of year.
