- There was a priest in the Co. Carlow who was murdered by four Orange-men one night in the month of June. The priest was preaching to the people and spokle about the way the English were torturing the Catholics. When he was ready to go home it was very late but he was not afraid so he rode off on his good horse. As he journeyed along he found the road blocked by trees so he jumped a ditch and got around the obstacle. As he was nearing Goresbridge he was met by four Orange-men who questioned him about the meeting but he would not tell because the Orange-men were there themselves. He was knocked off his horse and was murderd there and then. The Orange-men were not punished for their crime. If a person passed this place on a sunny June day he will see the image of a priest lying on the road. The priest horse galloped home and when he came to the gate it opened of its own accord and the stable-door did the same. When the horse was in the stable he(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
