- Mick Walsh lived in the village. He made songs & played them on the fiddle. Locally he was known as "Blind Mick".
- Crowdell as from P. Neill composed the "Peeler & th Goat". He was summoned for singing it on the street. When in Court, the Judge said to him --
"Are you Crowdell the Poet
The man that made the 'Peeler & the Goat?'"
Crowdell answered:-
"My name it is Crowdell
Altho Im a poet
A man made the peeler
But a puck made the goat."He was a carpenter by trade. A tree fell on him & killed him.
