    Upon her "sugar" chair.
    Each one remembers some old tale
    Of school, or dance, or race,
    Or how some comic neighbour hoaxed
    The wisest in the place.
    How pleased are all to hear again
    Those tales of bygone days,
    And soon the merry laugh rings out
    Around the cheerful blaze.
    We sit to tea and cake,
    And home-made brown and white
    Still round the board, from old and young
    The jokes fly left and right.
