Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)and who ever puts his hand in the dish with the ring in it will be married before the next Hallow - Eve. It is an old custom to make a cake and put a ring in it and the person who gets the ring is supposed to marry shortly. There is another custom of making champ and leaving it on the table for the Holy Souls. There is an old saying that we should not throw out water on that night for fear we might throw it on the Souls and drown them. Another old saying is that if you went out to riddle hayseed on that night that the devil would come and take the riddle out of your hands. It is also said that you should not stay out late on that night because you might see a ghost.
