In Church Avenue there is another forge. It is a very big one. It is tarred all over and a cement floor. It has two doors and two fires one at each end. Horses and donkeys are shoed there. The bellows are situated at the back of the fire. The anvil is near the door at the left hand side. It was owned by Mr. Conroy who worked in it nearly all his life. After his death his son took up the business and is working in it up to the present day.
Up Bull Lane is situated another forge. It has a tarred roof and is fairly big. It has one fire which is situated at the left hand side. Many people come to get their horses and donkeys shoed. It was owned by Mr. Dunne. His father worked in it for many years. Then it fell into the hands of his son who still carries on the work there. They also mend farm implements there.
There is also another forge situated in Bridge street. It is beside the river Triogue on the opposite side to Mr. Conroy's forge. They have two forges. It is owned by Mr. Lalor. His father also worked in it. It is not tarred. Farm implements are mended there.
In the summer time roses grow over the door.
