- The children of this locality look forward to certain feasts throughout the year. The most important are St. Stephen's day, Shrove Tuesday, and Easter Sunday. In this locality there are certain customs connected with these feasts.
St. Stephen's day falls on the 26th December. It is customary to go in groups of two or three to each house in the parish gathering money to bury the wren. They recite these words at every house; "The wren, the wren, the king of the birds got caught in the trap St. Stephens day.
