Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)clogs. They were more numerous in olden times, as the people were extremely poor and could not afford to buy shoes. But times have changed since and they have got rich.
There were foot coverings made of sheep skin and untanned hide. Long ago people had not many boots. They would take them off when they would come to the brink of the town and they would put them on again when they would be coming home. Sometimes if the people had no place to put the water that washed their feet, they would throw it out and say "By your lave".
An old beggar man used to go around long ago wearing nothing on his feet but old rags.
