  1. Severe Weather
    There is an old man living in the school district by the name of John Dockery who gave me an account of the big storm of 1839. This account was hand down to him by his grandfather.
    His grandfather and son were on their way to the fair of Ballinagare. A big storm arose when they came to Ogulla three miles from Tulsk. They stayed the night in Ogulla as the storm would not allow them to go any farther.
    There was no one at the fair as the people were unable to go. The wind was blowing south westerly. When the people got up the next morning they saw a lot of damage done to their hay and their houses.
    At that time all the land around Corraslira was a lake. Then there was a canal made since which drained all the water away.
