  1. Local Poets
There was a man named James Mc Keown, who lived in Cloonfad in the county Roscommon. He was a very good composer of poetry.
The name of one of the poems was, Watty Fitzmaurice and Arthur Mc Donagh.
This poem is about a man named Watty Fitzmaurice who lived in Cloonfad, and the tinner Mc Donagh who came to Watty's house one day and Watty gave him a pot to mend.
    This is the poem.
    I
Before I was a lad, in a place they call Cloonfad.
Lived great Watty Fitzmaurice of might.
He was never indread of living or dead.
And always longed for a quarrel or fight.
There was not a man from Cork to the Bann.
Could bid bold Watt to stand.
He could beat a half a score and that many more.
