- A man by the name of Tom Jackson used to travel from Lanesboro to Roscommon ever month selling goods. He went into a house on his way to Roscommon one day to light his pipe and they were churning. He put a coal into his and lit it and went away. When the people of the house went to take the butter off the churn they could get no butter on it, or any time after that. They seen the man coming another day and they told him the story. He pondered for a while and he said he threw the coal(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
