This was cured by heating plates to the fire and then to put them up to the side.
Chilblains.
These were cured by putting sugar into a rag and hammer it till it was in dust then to mix soap with it till in a paste. This was then rubbed to the unbroken chilblains. When they were broken they rubbed sweet oil to them.
Boils.
These were cured by putting a kettle of water on the fire and when steaming held a bottle up to it and when full put the mouth of the bottle up to the boil when it is ripe. With the strength of the steam the boil is forced to burst into the bottle. Then the boil was kept covered with a poultice of Linseed Meal till last(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
