- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)a little breeze. They got a bit afraid of it, but still they were very slow to head for home again so soon. They stuck it out a little longer, and the light-keeper came down to them begging of them to make for home as quickly as they could, that there was a gale out. In spite of all they insisted on making one other shot and by the time they had landed their pots it was getting dark and a good hard breeze blowing.They headed their boat down for the Sound, but they hadn’t gone far when they lost sight of land in the darkness and weather. They pulled away as hard as they could trying to keep the boat headed for the Sound as well as they knew how, but with the darkness and the gale that was blowing by then they lost all account of their bearings.They kept pulling away for the whole long night never knowing the minute they were going to be swamped or dashed to pieces against the rocks.
