   I've come from the States, and to tell you quite plainly.
   And what money I've spared, is gone whack long ago.
   Times they are changing, old age it is stealing.
   Tis hard to be paying, for your lodging and board.
   Now to end this narration, its the rainbow I'm chasing.
   And an outcast bewailing I leave Merchant's Ford.

   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   J. W. Honohan, Derry, Donoughmore was one of the most noted poets in this district. He was born about eighty years ago. In the year nineteen thirty four he died and was buried in Donoughmore in the County of Cork. He composed these following verses:-

   O Donoughmore! O Donoughmore!
   How oft I dream of you!
   And yet as oft my boyhood haunts
   Are pictured to my view.
   The grandeur of your scenery,
