   The fishermen heard it at Castletownbere.
   They were stricken with terror saying what should it be,
   Its the booming of thunder we can't put to sea.

   It was found underneath in a druidicalawn,
   That was played at the fox hunt, that day at Rylane.
   They guessed what was right, and said what was true,
   That twas Patsy and he sounding his 'Wild Barraboo'.

   His poetry, like that of many another bard of rural Ireland, remains wholly unpublished and survives only, in its native element, by the farmhouse fireside, or the cottage hearth.
