- One of the old crafts was spinning. This industry was carried on very much in olden times. The spinning wheel is made of timber. This wheel is worked on a stool with a wheel string attached to the "farrow" and spindle. The wool is carded with small cards or send to the carding mills. Then the women made it into thread with the spinning wheel.
