The first to leave the church after being married will be the first to die. On their way home it is supposed to be unlucky to get rain.

Until quite recently the following rules were followed in this district.
If the bridegroom did not sleep at the house the night before, he should be the first to reach the bride's house on the wedding-morning. The wedding celebrations usually lasted until next morning. The newly married couple remained a week in the house and then they went to their new home.
This was known here as "The Drag Home".
It was the rule at the weddings for the followers and friends of the two families to see who had the best men, so that wedding usually ended up in a faction fight. On this fight(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
