Windows The windows were very small and were not like the windows now - with four panes - but were divided into about ten small panes.
Floors. The old floors were made of earth and sometimes of huge flags. At the doorstep was big flag and at each side of the fire were flags. There was a door and a half in every house the half door being outside of the door. The fires were of turf and wood and also all sorts of sticks called brosnach.
