As I strayed by the banks of Sweet Lisheen's side
I espied a damsel both fair and handsome
And that charming goddess had my heart beguiled.

The most charming goddess of ancient Rome
Its loose and nimble she can work her thimble
And describe the ship in the seas white foam.

Or the most glorious crown of the King of Spain
The wand of liberty in her hand I'd place it
