- In the old days before the industrial revival movement the people grew their own food mostly wheat and oats which they ground in little mills simply constructed far different from the up to date mills of to day. The grain was on a large flag and then crushed by the simple process of two large stones working against each other. In that simple way they made their own flour and oatmeal.
