There was a gap in the fence and he told her to go in with him and she did so, it was not long until she heard the noise of horses and cars. Some passed on quietly but the others were scolding and fighting. When they had passed the man told her to go on her journey and not to be out at that hour of the night any more. He told her that if she met the people that passed there would be no more about her. When she had sold the butter she bought a clock and she was never out in the night again. It was her own husband who came to save her from the bad people.
