The dog eats grass when the rain is near also. The goats come in from the mountain very early in the day, and the cattle and horses come to the house when the weather is going to break.
The south west wind is the wind that brings most rain to us. When the north wind blows we get the snow. The mild east wind brings neither rain or snow to us. The old people say that if the wind is blowing from the east on November's morning the winter will be fine.
There is a mountain called "Sliabh Mis" to the west of my house. If there is snow on the top of this mountain we will also get some of that snow. If the fog is on top of the mountain we will get rain the next day.
