- Och: I'm weary and sore of the city's uproar,
And the howl of the Loco' at night
And the dust & the steam, & the fire engines scream,
That quivers my quill as I write.
And I'm longing to rove by some wood or some grove
Or to rest 'neath some wide spreading tree,
And inhale the fresh balm of the pine & the palm
Where the Funcheon flows on to the sea.II
Where down 'neath the roses, the salmon reposes,
The trout 'neath the willows keep quiet,
Until 'tis a fly, overhead they espy,
When they leap off their tails, with delight.
They leap off their tails & then ply them like flails,
And dive in the spray playfully
And places regain, till the fly comes again
Where the Funcheon flows on to the sea.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
