    the stye to feed the pigs. When he was coming out he struck his nose against the door and it began to bleed profusely. He was in such a hurry in to attend to his nose that he forgot to close the door.
    Then he scalded the churn and made the butter. Next he had to go to the well for a bucket of water and as the child was crying he had to take him with him. When he was leaning in to get out the bucket of water his leg slipped and he fell in child and all. If the water was any deeper they would have been drowned.
    On returning home he was surprised to see a little stream of butter-milk flowing out the door and lumps of butter floating in it. The black pig was after upsetting the churn and was drinking the contents. He took the shovel and hit him behind the ear and the pig fell dead outside the door.
    After a few minutes Peggie returned and found the place like a slaughter-house, butter milk and pigs blood flowing
