- The olden people had three meals daily,-, breakfast, dinner, and supper. They were eaten at eight o'clock, at one o'clock and at seven o'clock. They had stirabout and milk for their breakfast, potatoes and salt for their dinner, porridge and milk for their supper. They used drink sour milk. They sat at the table which was placed near the wall.
They used eat brown bread made from home ground wheat. Cornbeef was eaten. Fish was not eaten. They never ate late at night. The tea was first used at Christmas about a hundred years ago. Egg eating was common at Easter. Pancakes were eaten on Shrove Night.
