Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)to the north of Ballinhassig West. The horse mounted the crest of the hill above the gorse, the military were close behind and already their shouts of triumph were borne upon the gale.
To descend the gorse on horseback was matter of impossbility because it is extremely steed at this point. Having reached the summit of the hill, the priest urged his steed forward and the next moment he was flying through space with the same Airy motion as if the land were still beneath his hoofs. The gorse is of considerable width yet horse and rider safely reached the other side leaving their pursuers stupefied with amazement on the further ledge. From that day to this the place is know as "The Priest's Leap".
