- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)"Come now my good woman", said the priest, "I have been looking for you for a long time, and at last I have found you." He showed her a bottomless cup and said, "I will put a penance on you now, in atonement for the evil you have done in this parish. Take this cup and go to the Red Sea, and when you have it emptied you will be free."
- Rita Fitzgerald of Heamount, Middleton was told the following tale by her father -
About a mile and a half from Heamount there is a place called Bóthar Bó Finne. It is told that a white cow used walk there at a certain time every morning. This happened during the Famine years, and everybody came to milk her. It is said that no matter how many people came to get milk, they would all get as much as they wanted from this wonderful cow.Not far from Bóthar Bó Finne is another place called "Luighe na Bó Báine". It is said that the wonderful white cow slept there at night. What became of the cow is not known, but I suppose she vanished as she came when she saw there was no more need for her.- Bailitheoir
