He then told the woman of the house, who was a very mean woman, and who often refused the poor people of that locality for a drink of milk, to give milk, both new, and sour, to all the poor around her. She did this, and the next churn day, she made her butter as usual.
On another occasion, when churning, the cream was put into the churn apparently all right, yet no butter was produced, owing to the fact that it had been interfered with, by some ill-minded neighbour.
Butter-milk is a very healthy drink, and the old people love it.
