    Huckester
    A huckester is a man that goes around from place to place buying Feathers, rags, and papers. A huckester by the name of Gomel was around here lately and gave 1/3 in the pound for feathers.
    Practices
    On certain days of the year formerly business was not transacted lest they might get a bad price for their stuffs. Christmas day and all Fridays during Lent were some of the days included.
